The Vancouver Community Network website is a community based information system, which provides information to the people of Greater Vancouver. This is a very comprehensive site, which provides a plethora of links and directories to websites concerning the Lower Mainland.

This site provides comprehensive listing of programs that look to improve the livability, community and democracy through partnerships between governments and citizens. The examples provided are Neighbourhood Integrated Service Teams, Public Art Community Initiatives Program, Community Cultural Development, Greenways/Publicways, Community schools, Neighbourhood Matching Fund, Vancouver Community Net, From Barriers to Bridges, and Health Care Reform. There are web links provided for some of these groups and are listed below. This site provides contact information for the groups listed above, but does not provide weblinks for all. Neighbourhood Integrated Services Teams (NIST) are composed of City and other community agency employees working across organizational boundaries to help communities solve problems. The goals of the NIST are to create safer and more pleasant neighbourhoods, have the local community involved in problem solving, and have a working relationship with the city and its government. The rest of the site provides reasons why to contact the NIST and contact information for this organization.

This second site provides a map of all the different neighbourhoods in Vancouver and then provides a listing of all the different Services Teams and provides contacts for each member in the Services Team.

This site provides you with a listing of all community projects underway in all the neighbourhoods of Vancouver. This site enables you to limit the listing to events taking place in your community by community, by project, by department, keyword and even exact street addresses. The site also provides an expected completion date for the ongoing projects.
